Progress continues at Blake Village, Peterson’s 19-acre master-planned community in Burnaby, with the project reaching another significant milestone.
Last week, Burnaby City Council approved the Master Plan Rezoning Amendment for Blake Village, increasing the development potential of the site and supporting the continued evolution of the community.
Led by Emily Vinet, the Master Plan Amendment aligns Blake Village with the City of Burnaby’s new R6 zoning designation, adding height and density across the site. With these changes now approved, Blake Village is anticipated to accommodate up to 4.8 million sq. ft. and approximately 5,000 homes.

The updated Master Plan permits 446 storeys across 21 buildings—an increase of 91 storeys from the original 2024 approval. Building heights will range from 13 to 30 storeys, averaging approximately 21 storeys, with much of the additional height concentrated around the nearby SkyTrain station and along Winston Street.
The approval builds on the momentum already underway at Blake Village. Earlier this year, Phase 1A received Site Specific Rezoning approval for 729 homes, marking another important step in bringing the broader master plan forward.
With the Master Plan Rezoning Amendment now approved, the team will continue advancing future phases of Blake Village, with additional planning and entitlement milestones anticipated through Q2 2027.
This latest approval represents another important step forward for Blake Village as the team continues to progress one of Peterson’s most significant master-planned communities.
